Atlanta, GA, October 16, 2014 – EnvisionWare, a leading provider of self-service and library efficiency solutions, announced that Liberty University in Lynchburg Virginia has installed EnvisionWare RFID software and security in the University’s new state-of-the-art library.
The new $50 million dollar library, named after Liberty’s founder, Dr. Jerry Falwell, offers students cutting-edge technology, diverse learning environments, scholarly resources, and comfortable study space and includes both traditional and innovative learning formats. Centrally located, the 4-story, 170,000 square foot library is intended to serve as the heart of campus activity and learning.
The EnvisionWare RFID installation includes staff circulation, technical services, and security gates. The RFID system integrates with the Library’s Voyager Integrated Library System (ILS) from Ex Libris.
“The new Jerry Falwell Library was designed to accommodate the university’s explosive growth and the diverse and changing needs of residential and online students,” said EnvisionWare co-founder and CEO Mike Monk. “It’s a compliment to our technology and service to be selected as the RFID partner for such an impressive and world-class library.”
The facility honors Dr. Falwell’s legacy by assisting Liberty in its mission to develop students equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary to impact their communities in a 21st century context.
In addition to the main university library, the Library at the Liberty University College of Osteopathic Medicine has also selected EnvisionWare for RFID. In addition to RFID, the library will install the EnvisionWare X1 Self-service Station for student circulation and EnvisionWare security gates.
